These are responsible for absorbing infrared radiation that is released by the earth
(terrestrial radiation), preventing it’s release to space. The main GHGs are carbon dioxide, methane, nitrogen dioxide,
ozone, halocarbons and steam (water vapor).
#OzoneLayer
It is a gaseous layer that surrounds the Earth, its main function is to protect
the Earth from ultraviolet radiations. This layer contains a substance where the name was born from – ozone, which
forms in the stratosphere, the second layer of the atmosphere
Environmental pollution results from the action of something or someone,
causing catastrophic changes in the environment. Nowadays, air pollution is one of the most serious problems that
the planet is going through. It consists of the emission of large amounts of greenhouse gases.
Carbon dioxide is the gas with biggest impact on the environment and
is naturally produced – through respiration, decomposition of plants, animals. However, over the years,
the intensification of the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is due to the action of man,
mainly due to the burning of fossil fuels.
